As a Battlefield enjoyer and Dead Space fanatic I was very much looking forward to trying this event. And it is woefully disappointing. I went in with tempered expectations and really had to reign in my imagination leading up to this. So what did i expect from this Dead Space event? Honestly. I expected something closer to Dead Space 2 multiplayer.
What do we get? The equivalent of portals zombie mode but with a unique skin for the zombie enemies. You play through 38 waves of "scourge" trying to take and defend control points in a Rush style of game play. However the weapons and tools use a system borrowed from call of duty zombies.
You start with an mp28 with unlimited ammo and a 10 round magazine to begin killing with. As you kill you obtain the currency needed to buy new weapons. Which can be purchased at designated locations. There are a number of guns. a few assault rifles, shotguns, marksman rifles. You can also purchase gadgets, which include the armor plating, tugs, incendiary grenades etc.
Outside of the rewards of the event and the limited skin pack ,which has an Isaac Clark skin for Casper and a few gun skins to make like 3 guns look like some dead space weaponry (flamer, pulse rifle, and plasma cutter), which costs 20 dollars to purchase, I wouldn't call this a Dead Space event . At all.
The Dead Space "event" is the 20 dollar skin pack. The rest is an official portal game mode with a few knick knacks that are fine, i guess. From the game mode you can get a weapon ornament, a few items for your player card and a weapon skin that resembles the plasma cutter. The weapon skin can also be purchased via the store bundle.

Overall, to no ones surprise, and Dead Space fans disappointment, this event is a nothing burger. Dice previously announced that season 7 is the games final season, so this is clearly an attempt to get players in to spend money on cosmetics who have a very short shelf life.
Following the announcement by EA where it was stated that Motive will not be working on Dead Space 2. This just feels like EA wanted to kick the corpse of one of their most beloved franchises and gave them another opportunity to punish fans and DICE .
